Johanna Mauss, ND

Educational Background:

Dr. Mauss grew up in the mountains of Virginia. She attended Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia, earning a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Human Biology with a Minor in Chemistry.  Concurrently, she became a Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and volunteered with a local rescue squad throughout her undergraduate. Following, she received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM). She then completed a post-graduate residency in Naturopathic general family practice at the Southwest Naturopathic Medical Center in Tempe, Arizona. Dr. Mauss in currently licensed to practice naturopathic medicine and acupuncture in the states of New Hampshire and Arizona.

Dr. Johanna Mauss is a dedicated Naturopathic Doctor who is well trained in general family medicine with an integrative approach. She emphasizes collaboration with patients to create a treatment plan that works for them while empowering patients through education to create a partnership for wellness. Dr. Mauss has special interest in thyroid and adrenal health, bio-identical hormone replacement, diabetes and other endocrine conditions, IV nutrient/ozone therapy, chronic digestive conditions, chronic illness including Lyme disease and other tick-borne pathogens, mold related illness, autoimmunity, and toxic burden. Dr. Mauss believes good medicine emphasizes prevention, education, and improving the quality of life. She utilizes an array of approaches to care for her patients including but not limited to: advanced laboratory testing, botanical medicine, nutrition, IV therapy and pharmaceuticals, when necessary. Additionally, Dr. Mauss is trained and licensed to practice Acupuncture. 

Dr. Mauss has completed a preceptorship with Dr. Nicole Schertell ND to gain further expertise in the management of Lyme & tickborne illnesses. Currently, she is an active member of the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS).  Further professional training includes the completion of  a two-year mentorship specific to mold-related chronic illness under Neil Nathan, MD, and she holds Dr. Jill Crista's mold literate practitioner certifications.
